the search options replace the left pane, and the search results
replace the right pane. There are many options that you can set
when doing a search:</font></p>
<ul>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Search
For</b> is where you enter some file or folder name criteria
to look for. You can use wildcard characters if you like, but
they are assumed and don't need to be entered. For example,
to search for all files the end with <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">.PSD</font>
you could enter either <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">*.PSD</font>
or <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">.PSD</font>. The
difference is that NOT using a wildcard will return values that
contain <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">.PSD</font>
anywhere in the filename. Using the wildcard forces it to look
for things that END WITH the <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">.PSD</font>.</font></li>
<li><b><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Search
Which Volumes</font></b><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">
is a list box that allows you to select where to search. You
can select the very topmost object (The Zipcat Pro Object) to
search everything, or select an individual database or volume
to search it instead.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Date
Range Searches</b> are performed by selecting one of the three
date modifiers (Create, Modified, Last Accessed) and entering
a range below them in the form <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">mm/dd/yy</font>.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Description
Contains</b> is where you'd enter a part of the description
you're searching for. These descriptions can be added to files
and folders by right-clicking on them in the right pane.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>File
Size</b> is a drop-down list that allows you to select <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">is
larger than</font>,<font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">
is smaller than</font>, or <font face="Courier New, Courier, mono">is
equal to</font>. You simply select one, and enter a size in
kilobytes next to it. A kilobyte is 1,024 characters. So, if
you're looking for files that are at least 1 megabyte in size,
enter 1000 as your size in kilobytes.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Search
Folders</b> and <b>Select Files</b> checkboxes allow you to
define what you're searching for. Remember that limiting your
search using specific criteria will generally speed it up.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Find
Duplicates</b> will cause ZCP3 to look for all files that match
your criteria, and only display the ones that are found more
than once. Remember that with size searches, although ZCP3 displays
file sizes in kilobytes, the actual byte size is what is stored.
So if two files appear to have the same size in kilobytes, they
may not actually have the same size. ZCP3 will round off the
size to show it in kilobytes. So a duplicates search using size
modifiers may not return the results you're looking for.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"><b>Start
Search</b> will initiate the search. Results will be displayed
as they are found, in the right pane. Remember that you can
open found items by double-clicking on them, or copy found items
by right-clicking on them.</font></li>
<li><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Search
results are kept until you perform a new search.</font></li>
